Caprile is a district of Alleghe, it is a municipality located on the upper side of Agordino. In Italy you can find ather town with the same name. Not far from it, there s the confluence of the Fiorentina and Pettorina streams which finally, they flow on the Cordevole mainstream. The town is located slightly underneath the Marmolada, which is an important gateway, and northerly located from county seat Alleghe. Near at hand, southern-east, it rises the Civetta massif having behind it, Zoldo valley.

It is the outstanding beauty of all natural components to represent this site, surrounded by woods and meadows landscaped by high massive cliffs so beautiful to have achieved high popularity. Summertime offers great outdoor escapes such as the Fiorentina Valley or the Pettorina Valley enjoyable for hiking, and for the lovers of mountain biking there is a wide range of itineraries. To whom may love immersing oneself in a full adventure it is recommended to go to the Marmolada or Civetta mountains.

Punta Penia reaches 3.342 metres of height on Marmolada’s ridge, being the highest summit amongst the Dolomites mountain range. There are different itineraries to reach the various peaks either through climbing or mountain routes. Civetta’s mountain group reaches its summit at 3.220 metres of height and the mountain is made of a steep cliff with a prominence of 1.000 metres and a length of nearly 4.000 metres. On this huge mountain cliff have been opened various trails, such as the Solleder-Lettembauer, the Philip-Flamm, the trail of the “five of Valmadrera”, and some others of higher intensity degree. Excursions on summertime are the best time to enjoy the wilderness beauty of the Dolomites landscape and there s the chance for daily outings or longer, to Adolfo Sonino Mountain hut or to Coldai and Attilio Tissi mountain shelters.

Winter time in Caprile

Winter time offers a great range of different ski runs and moreover, on the Marmolada is possible to ski on late season on the glacier’s slope. This place is even a good starting point for the pistes that belong to the Civetta ski, to the Tre Valli and the Marmolada area, all this resorts are part of the Dolomiti Superski. The area of Tre Valli has more than 100 kilometres ski runs with more than 50 aerial lifts and it expands among the Moena-Lusia-Bellamonte, Passo San Pellegrino and Falcade.
